Group A Streptococci ‘Streptococcus viridans’ are rarely encountered in the vagina, but if they are, they can cause severe disease after an intervention or delivery causing a barrier breach in the skin.
Despite several maternal and postoperative mortalities worldwide, there was a lack of comprehensive guidelines about this rare but important infection.
